It is still installed. I just deleted the icon on the desktop because I use Firefox now.

Click start find the Internet explorer icon in there, right click it select "send to" and select "Desktop (shortcut)".

Then find it at the desktop and rename it to delete the "shortcut to..." text.

go to Control Panel > Display > desktop > Customize desktop, uncheck Internet explorer if its checked, apply or OK then go back and recheck it.

If its unchecked already then just check it.

you can also try restore from your recycle Bin. If those don't work just create a new shortcut browse to c:\program files\Internet Explorer then right click iexplorer.exe and create shortcut then drag it to the desktop

I wouldn't worry about it, you're using the best browser out there now. I don't have any browser icons on my desktop, I have everything in the Quick Launch bar.

if you want it on the desktop, drag the icon from the Quick Launch bar to the desktop
