I have seen on Firefox's website that a new version is going to be available soon. (Firefox 2 Release Candidate 2 (RC 2) is a preview release of our next generation Firefox browser)

Is it worth trying the preview version or wait till it is released properly?

I use firefox as I find it easier but it has seemed to have slowed down lately. I have done all anti virus/spyware scans to no avail.

Please help!!!!

-You can have a look on some of the changes introduced in FF2. But it'll be cooler to wait and check all the changes together in the final release. The changes are mostly minor up to this level, so stick to FF1.5 for now.

Note: most extensions don't function properly in FF2 even if you follow the common work-around trick.

-The most common cause for FF slow down are the extensions and themes.Different extensions require different levels of memory usage.Try to disable or uninstall most of the extensions you don't use.See for yourself if it gets better. The best way to know if extensions are the reason is to run the safe mode of FF.

-Other computer issues may lead to a considerable slow down in performance. For farther tips, tricks, and information, visit Firefox's official support chat rooms on the mozilla network. You'll work on your problem step by step.

Haven't seen the RC2 yet, but have never had a problem with any of the Firefox releases. One caveat to that would be extensions, which may not work with a new update. Overall advice is to wait, unless you have another machine you could try it on.

Sounds as if you cache may be getting full. Click on Tools, then privacy, then the cache tab. Lower the the limit to 5 megs, and clear the cache now. Something you should do once a week.

M8, u better wait for the full version because beta version is only in the development stages. I had a bitter experience on that. I installed Windows Vista beta 4 months ago. When it started working; it looks fantastic. But after two weeks i couldn`t go to the internet. When i uninstalled it; i even lost my Back Up files. So it is better to install the full version. Yourantivirus can do anything about it.

Firefox is an information superhighway browser (like information superhighway Explorer). Thunderbird is Mozilla's digital mail client software (like Outlook show). till IE7 got here alongside I continuously used Firefox in selection to information superhighway Explorer using fact it replaced into much less companies to errors, freezing, and multiple different issues, and maximum heavily it had the ability to open diverse tabbed information superhighway pages in one window. Now IE7 has caught up and has tabbed surfing. It additionally seems to artwork properly in many different respects, so i'm now making use of it, yet have stored Firefox on my equipment as a "backup". Thunderbird is a robust digital mail software, with one exception - it replaced into unreliable re photos embedded in the text textile. it is a while on account that I used is, so updates might have solved that problem.

It's worth waiting for the new version to ocme out as this is just a beta version. They use these as a test bed but they still have some bugs which aren't properly sorted.
