Why do I get more spam on my personal email account than my business email account?

Years ago, I set up two separate email accounts because I thought my business email would be a target for a lot of spam since it's listed on my website. My personal email address has only been given to a few people, and not used for anything else. I haven't used it to sign up for anything, no one should even know this email address except the few people that I've given it to. I find it strange that my business account almost never gets spam, but my personal account gets TONS of it. These emails aren't the free yahoo, hotmail, or gmail addresses, they are addresses that I pay for through my ISP. Why do I get so much spam on my personal account?

Do the friends who have your email send group emails to lots of people? Have they ever had their email compromised or hacked?

There are all kinds of ways that your email kind get on spam lists. There are promotions/sites that ask for "other interested parties" when you sign up. If you have never given it to anyone but your friends I would look to them as the culprit if you want someone to blame.

But everyone gets spam.

it is true and confirmed that isp keeps a log records about the website you visit, the email you use and even the files you download with timings and detail.

it depends on isp that can use and sell your email to spammers for business.

better anti-spam settings + you probably use personal email less wisely.
