need help. I think my yahoo mail is being used to send spam mail. every monday tuesday or wed. i get returned mail saying that my message is being blocked or undelivered. The problem is i havent' sent mail to the addresses, and the title of the messages are normally the spam type. In addition i find that on saturdays i can't ever access my email or messenger. so i've often changed my password but still i eventually get the returned mails. I use both norton antivirus and yahoo anti spy (updated) but find nothing.
Here is a copy of one such email i got today: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

It is not hijack of yahoo account.

Few ways it happens:

a. In any case if your email address is published on the web, spammer can use fake email as yours to spam others.

b.If your email address is stored in your freinds outlook express, etc, and his computer is hijacked via adware/spyware/malware..etc to send email from his/her address book via random email selection.

There are other way around tooo....Dun worry..it wont last long always.

btw from header details you can try to guess which proxy/ip it is using.

This could be a minor case of spyware and or a mail address worm.... and sometimes this problem will keep persisting even if you already did all scanning needed

changing of passwords does not help at all, because the intrusion takes place on the actual email ID. This can also be refered as Fraudulent spoff

report this to :

Yahoo anti spoff mail-spoof@cc.yahoo-inc.com

Federal trade Commision spam@uce.gov

change your password to something complex with lots of number and letters and write it down own a paper so you don't forget.

if that doesn't help, just get a new account and try to contact yahoo about it?

good luck.
