I am thinking about joining a penny auction site and I need to know what ones are good and legitimate?

Money is tight and I need to get Christmas gifts for my family. I have heard of a couple of penny auction sites such as swoopo, quibids, plundr, and bidcactus. I know these sites for bids but I heard that you still usually pay way below what an item is actually worth and this would be helpful. I really need to find a site like this so I need to know which is the best one to go to?

Why don't you go on ebay and type in a search such as "bracelets" for example. Once the search is up, click Sort by Lowest Price. You will find many items from China selling for pennies actually. Here is something I found for less than $2 I was really impressed with: http://cgi.ebay.com/K4288-New-Womens-Crystal-Heart-Shaped-Pendant-Necklace-/220708742264?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3363442478#ht_3956wt_1140

HI,

I hope this helps you.

I joined a penny auction site I bought some bid packs and after quite some time I actually won something worth more than what I had put in,

I won a Cobra GPS radar detector for about 50 bucks and I sold it in ebay for 199.00

I like the penny auctions just have to be careful and not just bid like crazy

this is the one I used

I'd like to invite you to take a look at PennyBurners.com. We are a penny auction news blog and forum, and we have a growing list of Verified Penny Auction Sites, as well as a list for Unverified Sites In Good Standing, and Scam Penny Auction Sites.

A "Verified" status means that the site has passed a back-end review for the presence (or rather, lack of) of bots/shill accounts, they have submitted all of the proper paperwork for their company, and have been confirmed to have excellent customer service.

I would not recommend Swoopo, QuiBids, or BidCactus for a beginner, or at all, really. There are plenty of trusted, smaller penny auction sites, where you are sure to find a great deal and receive stellar customer service.

Please feel free to join us on our forums and ask any questions you may have. We have more than 750 users who would be happy to help you in any way they can =)

Hope to see you on PennyBurners!

Based on the research work I did with Penny Auction sites, they all seem to have different aproaches to the same thing: Taking your money... Allways remember, when something is too good to be true, it usually is not true. There are definitely winners on these sites (and this one is one of the better ones) but for every 1 winner, there are 10s or 100s of loosers so your odds are not to your favor. Even based on their (penny auction sites) revues alone, these sites are not here to stay. Most of them made a lot of money to begin with but since there is very little return customers, they are not doing as well and a lot of them are loosing money. I would only suggest it if you consider this pure gambling and you do not mind loosing the money you will put in and not get anything in return other than the thrill of playing...Enough said.

pennyauction.com is in a "pre-launch" phase. I know this cause I talked with them. They don't have iPads or MACs listed during this phase but have been getting stuff cheap as there aren't many bidders. When I say cheap I mean only 10-15 bids are being placed. Not cheap like $40 for an iPod that got 400 bids on it. Lots of gift cards. I have also used wavee but only won 1 auction.

I used this site called edrivenbids a couple months ago and won some cool stuff. The guy didn't have enough traffic so he had to shut it down but now they are coming back up in a couple of days. With so few people on there is a high chance of you winning so I think you should check it out. Plus its cheaper than swoopo who charge .69 per bid, they only charge .50 which is about as low as it gets
