Your machine is infected. Pop-ups are mostly caused by adware, spyware, and other malicious and unwanted software and using pop-up blocker won't help an infected PC. No single anti-spyware application is perfect so I recommend using at least 2 different programs. Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware are the best. Other free anti-spyware programs would be Spybot Search & Destroy, Adaware, AVG Anti-spyware (formally Ewido), A-squared, Spyware Terminator and SpywareBlaster.

NOD32 is a great anti-virus program - just as good as Kaspersky (stay away from Norton). NOD32 is what I personally use but you do need anti-spyware in addition.

Running anti-malware programs in Safe Mode (tap F8 as the computer boots up and choose to boot to safe mode) can be more effective since only your O.S. is being loaded (no or minimal drivers).

It's also good that your using FireFox, it's a far better and safer alternative to Internet Explorer. If you add-on McAfee SiteAdvisor, it will warn you of potentially harmful sites. I also recommend CCleaner which is a free system optimization and privacy tool.

How to get rid of Google pop up is

Go to start and run type in regedit.

When that open up click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Click the plus sign and you see software. Now on the left pane when you find Goolge right click and select delete Google. Close the box and rebot your pc using the F8 key, press it a few time and select rebot. Google will be removed from your pc plus the pop up

get a better antivirus, like Norton or kaspersky. then run the scan.

i doubt it's a firefox issue, and i bet there's adware on your Internet Explorer. it tends to get those quite often :D
