Just install firefox and make it your default browser. You may find that you need IE for certain web sites.

You can't uninstall IE. What you can do is install Firefox and make it your default browser. Firefox automatically checks to see if it is the default browser when you launch it. If you disabled that check feature, you can manually set FF as your default.
Open Firefox. Click on Tools > Options. On the Main tab, you should see System Defaults near the bottom. If the box for "Always check to see if Firefox is default..." is unchecked, check it. You can also click the Check Now button, which will ask if you want to make FF your default browser.
This should be user specific, so FF will be your default browser while IE will be the default for your sister's logon.

you dont need to uninstall the IE.you can use both internet explorer and firefox at the same time.and IE cant be uninstall because it is built-in by Microsoft.if you try to remove it from any other means like deleting some files, then it will make your problem worse.so the solution is that you just install firefox.during the installatio, you just select firefox to be your default web browser

Don't try to uninstall IE. It is so integrated into windows that you will have all kinds on problems. If you remove it your sister will not be able to use it. On the first page of the tools/options is a box for makign it the default browser for your use.

Many Windows components rely heavily on the underlying Internet Explorer bits.
While technically it is possible to "uninstall", it really is not recommended.
You may also wish to check out a browser called "Flock" http://flock.com
It's built on Firefox, but has features for YouTube, Facebook, del.icio.us and many other "social" sites. Best of all, it's free.

Don't bother uninstalling it. Just about all browsers can co-exist on the same system - I have IE (never use), Firefox, Opera and Avant. It won't cause any problems.

You don't have to uninstall IE, simply just download the Firefox and install it. sometimes IE can be useful to download something from Microsoft. if you have problem with IE go to Microsoft to have an update of your browser.

the internet Explorer engine is an integrated component of living house windows XP that's additionally to blame for the function of living house windows explorer. you may no longer somewhat uninstall it, that's an factor to the consumer interface. All you're able to do is remove the shortcuts and pretend it is not there :-)

You don't have to. Just download and install Mozilla Firefox at this link: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ . I hope this one help.
