Why does my site look like this in Firefox and not IE?

Hi. I am having issues with my website appearing differently in
Firefox than in IE. I edit my site in IE, using Yahoo PageBuilder, via Geocities as host (I know, pretty outdated) but I have been having visitors email me saying my site is all bunched up or spaced out funny or images are not aligned, text on top of pics, etc. When I view my site in IE it looks fine, everything is lined up perfectly. But when it's viewed in Firefox, it is all over the place. My dividers are at the top of the page, over to the side, text not inside of them, and images as well. How can I fix this so that my site can be viewed the same way in each browser? Again it looks fine and exactly how I designed it in IE, but in Firefox it's a mess. I have tried clearing cookies/cache and that does work. Geocities customer care can't really give me a clear answer and keep suggesting to clear cookies. But all of my visitors are having this problem. Please help! thanks

This is a slightly more common problem among older websites. Different web browsers use different web layout kits (Firefox - Gecko; Safari - Webkit; IE - Trident). In other words, when they get the same pieces of code, sometimes the code comes out in ways it shouldn't. One solution is to start by simplifying your site's layout using newer, standardized coding.

sure, that's particularly easy. it truly is right down to how different browsers interpret the stylesheet classes embedded in the cyber web web site. There are meant to be standards, yet i think of i'm staggering in saying that no browser implements each and every of the criteria wisely. even inspite of the undeniable fact that, some are greater compliant than others. IE is the least compliant (no ask your self there). there is something referred to as the "Acid attempt" it truly is designed to % out flaws in the way browsers render cyber web content. cyber web builders have devised numerous hacks over the years in an attempt to cajole IE to artwork because it is going to. Browser compliance themes are in all risk the main important situation cyber web designers face.

If you are talking about FireFox 3.5 the answer is that it is an inherently flawed browser. you need to download version 3.0.11
