I Googled - it was faster - The answer is for XP but the same theory should apply.
If you are going to another (later) OS, it would be best to start afresh with the Firefox installation. Reinstall extensions etc from the Mozilla site. Just rescue your bookmarks from the WinME computer for use with the XP one. A couple of ways to transfer the bookmarks:
1.
* Open Firefox and Go to: 'Menu > Bookmarks > Organise bookmarks'. This will open the Bookmarks Manager.
* In the Bookmarks Manager, go to: 'File > Export' and export the bookmarks.html file to the Desktop.
* Copy the file to a USB memory stick, floppy disk or CD.
* Take it to the new computer and insert the disk/stick.
* Open the newly installed Firefox.
* Open the Bookmarks Manager. Go to: 'File > Import' (From File) and browse to the 'bookmarks.html' file stored on the disk or memory stick.
* Import the bookmarks.
2.
* Do a windows search on the WinME computer for bookmarks.html.
* Put a copy of it onto a disk or memory stick.
* Insert the disk or stick into the XP computer.
* Copy the bookmarks.html file to the following directory.;
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default (xxxxxxxx represents a string of random letters and numbers).
* Let the file overwrite the existing bookmarks.html file when prompted.
Before you can see the folder called 'Application Data' you may need to un-hide it. To do this, open Windows Explorer and go to: 'Tools > Folder Options > View'. Select 'Show hidden files and folders' and click 'OK'.
As you'll have gathered, all firefox bookmarks are stored in a single file called 'bookmarks.html'. They can't be separated but you can view them by double-clicking on the file. It will open in the browser like any other web page. Knowing that, there may not be any need to see them in Wordpad.

But now the only thing I'm curious about is...
When I open the 'bookmarks.html. file, they're all 'linked'. Is there any way I can somehow make the links so that they're unlinked and the actual web addresses are all displayed instead of just the link names? I realise there will be a lot more text on the page now, but I'm just curious.
Thanks.

If you save (or export) bookmarks.html as a text (.txt) file it will show the URLs for the link names. The text might need a bit of editing to make it easily readable.
