What's a good way to send a large file through the internet?

My friend is trying to send me a 600 mb file through the internet to me, but we don't know how to do it effectively. We are currently trying to transfer the file through Skype but that seems to be painfully stagnant.
Does anyone know a better more efficient way of transfering the file? If this new way works we may do it again with a 1.3 gig file as well. Thanks for your help.

http://www.filemail.com/

Filemail is a free service that you can use to send an unlimited number of files up to 2GB each to anyone with an email address.

Many ISP's limit the size of files that can be attached to an email, often as little as 10 or 20 MB's is the maximum size. Or perhaps you've received a large file by email in the past and found that you have to wait whilst it downloads before you can see the rest of your emails? Well, now there's an alternative - and it won't cost you a penny.

You have a folder of funny images to send to your friends. The image files are large, so you compress them into, for example, a .rar file thinking, that you can share your files with your friends. However, your friends say that they do not know how to open the file. So you direct them to WobZip.

The easiest way I think is to use an online data backup solution. Most are free for 2GB or even 5GB in some cases. Just upload your file to there, then make sure your friend has your username and password, then he can log in and download it as well at much faster speeds since it's coming from a fast server and not directly from your computer. Dropbox is one of the easiest ways to do this. It even has a share function so you can keep your files private and share only what you want.

Note:The link will bcome invalid if ur frnd closes sendoid.com...

Well the best way is to upload your file to free file hosting sites such as mediafire, rapidshare, torrent, ect

And send download link to your friend so he/she can download it directly

No, don't just go with skype. you will need very long time to complete it
