Question:
Why does my streaming video stop?

Anytime I stream video, after a while (maybe 8 minutes or so) the video stops streaming video, and just says "Buffering XX%". Now, I'm not an idiot, and I know that the player is trying to get enough info to play more, but the XX% never moves. It doesn't matter if I'm playing using YouTube, DivX, MegaVideo, or whatever player. It always stops about 5 - 10 minutes in and stops buffering. To fix this, I have to reload the page, and skip to wherever I left off, and then I can watch about 8 more minutes before I have to reload again. I've searched the internet high and low and found many other people with this same problem, and the only answers are "oh, your internet isn't fast enough" and "that happened to me once, so I changed my video player." These are BS answers that are avoiding the problem. Will someone intelligent please help?!

*if* your using chrome then this is probably due to a problem with the shockwave plugin, it's causing chrome users some headache. I fixed this using the solution explained on this page

(it's one of the posts, a little further down the half way)

Most likely your not using Chrome though. In that case I'm afraid I don't know. There are too many potential factors to easily diagnose the issue. If your using Firefox I would say check any addons your installed recently, one of them may be interfering with your video.

If your using IE I would say switch to chrome ;P

I had the exact same issue. After doing some research I found out that my adobe flashplayer was not up to date. After updating the flashplayer everything went back to normal.
