Torrent download/upload question?

After I download torrents, I obviously seed so other people can enjoy it. Thing is for some reason while I'm downloading, the upload speed is so much faster than the download speed. Right now my download speed for a torrent is 5 kbps - 8 kbps, while the upload speed is 85 kbps - 100 kbps. I'm so annoyed because I've been downloading this 3 GB torrent for 7 days and I'm still at 70%. Is there anyway to make the download speed faster, and the upload speed slower?

You can reduce your upload speed from yout torrent client. Try Universal Torrent Accelerator, or update your tracker manually. That usually works for me...

It often depends on what software you are using. Some softwares have a premium zone (or just somewhere you have to pay) where your download speed will be much higher. The fact that your upload speed is high and your download speed is low is just a way to pressure you into paying.

It can also be because you didn't set the settings right. Try and look around to see if there's an upload and download speed limit somewhere (utorrent and bittorretn have one) and if that's the case just change it and that should do the trick (putting the download speed too high slows it all down, so set it at about the speed you think your computer/connection is best suited for).

If you don't ant to pay, I recommend changing software. I would advise vuze, which is really simple of use and rather quick (15minutes of a full length good quality movie) and also has a search engine included.

It is illegitimate to download copyrighted torrents and you may enter trouble. My partner and i recommend employing a VPN service whenever accessing torrents. I am using http://www.vpnmaster.org theyallow torrents on their European servers.
