I like google chrome because of its speed. It doesn't have all the toolbars up top to slow you down. It has the address bar and the google search bar all in one(you canmodify this bar to search google, yahoo, or bing).
Mozilla is pretty fast but it is still kind of slow. It has very little toolbars to slow you down. Its more preferece between mozilla and google chrome.
Safari is fast but it can't process too much at one time or it crashes. You can't have two windows open and trying to load different things. It just won't work like that.
Internet Explorer is so slow. It is mostly lagged down by all of the toolbars. I once saw a computer that had toolbars covering half the screen. You can speed it up by deleting some of those but it is still unreliable. It crashes often and requires so many updates to keep it going it just isn't worth it.
Whichever one you choose it is availiable to download for free online.

Firefox is the best browser if you are a developer, because it lets you have so many ad dons .
But if you are a regular web surfer, then Chrome is ranked the best because of its speed, compatibility with latest web technologies, and number of tabs which can open at a time.
The best part is that it is designed for people who really like to have a better web experience. Because it gives you the viewing area which no other web browser can offer.
I say Google Chrome is the best among the total web browsers made in the world.

Internet Explorer 8 has a lot security flaws. So it shouldn't even be considered. Hope IE9 will be better.
Safari - UI is good and it is also fast but it takes up a lot of memory and startup very slow.
Opera 10.5 UI good and it is really fast and memory usage is less, startup time is also good. But there is no add-on support. That's the only reason why I don't use Opera.
Its hard to pick between chrome and firefox. Both are pretty much the same in terms of everything. But Chrome is faster, sleeker and its from Google. And Google rules the internet. So the feature versions of chrome will definitely be the best.
1. Google chrome
2. Mozilla Firefox
3. Opera
4. Safari
5. Internet Explorer

Firefox and Chrome have their advantages and disadvantages.
The general idea seems to be that Chrome is faster, whereas Firefox is more flexible. In my experience, Chrome occasionally fails to display CSS properly, but this may have been fixed with a more recent patch.
I have both installed: I use Chrome when my internet connection is weak, as it loads pages a lot faster than Firefox. However, I think that Firefox generally offers a better browsing experience, so I use that for the majority of the time.
Test both browsers out for a while in order to see which you prefer.

i prefer Firefox due to its extensions and addons which make it more secure and also look better.
Im not a fan of chrome, dont like the layout. Ive been using firefox for 5+yrs so im used to it and i guess a bit bias.
As for ie8 its a good browser and i find myself using it more in the past few months than before.
As for people saying chromes faster etc.. how desperate are you for those porn pages to load up and refresh?? lol i bet the speeds less than a few seconds, it doesnt bother me at all

I completely agree with English & Proud's answer.
I find Firefox, slow to load, but that is because it has so much on it.
The adblok add-on is great, and gets rid of the annoying flash adverts on Yahoo Answers, when you are trying to formulate an answer or question.
I also have Chrome, which is quicker, by has far less options on it.

i use firefox and have chrome as a kinda back-up
firefox is faster and has so much more add-ons than chrome and has more security functions
chrome just sits there i dont know why i got it but hey its better than having internet explorer as a back up

I would say Google Chrome, but you should try both Chrome and Firefox to find out which one fits you best.
Also, despite what some Firefox fans say, Google Chrome does have Adblock. It can be found on https://chrome.google.com/extensions?hl=en-US with many other extensions.

google chrome is a bit faster aparantly...
but i always use firefox because you can do so much with the add ons.... block adverts and redirects, download on screen content.. redesign how you view pages...
the worst one in my opinion is internet explorer... theres honestly not one thing i like about it.
