I tried Personal Web Server 4 and it gave me the virtual server http://chetan/ on my computer but when I try to publish my website from Frontpage on the virtual server it says the domain does not have frontpage extensions installed. I also installed Frontpage server extensions 2000 but it didnt work? Please help me to test my frontpage XP made website offline.

First, make sure that your server is running.

Go to URL: http://localhost

Then, make sure you saved your files into c:\inetpub\wwwroot

BTW: Why you use FrontPage? Not all webservers support it. I suggest you to use DreamWeaver, then use PHP or ASP.

You are going to have to the the Frontpage extensions running.

The previous answer is correct - the pages will only work going through http://localhost or http://chetan (I assume that's the name PWS assigned during install).

Actually, I never installed FrontPage extensions 2000 on PWS 4. Back when I was using that, I was running FrontPage 98, and I know I had those extensions working.

What is the extension of your pages?

If it is simple html, htm you can PREview it easily.

I think you are making asp or asp.net or any server side scripts.

If that is the case you need different requirements like iis installed to run the scripts on local host.
