Why does my internet connection keep going on and off?

while im on my laptop my internet connection keeps going off. it says no internet acces. it keeps doing this, i dont know why! i don't think is the modem. someone please help me!! its soo fustrating doing something online and then my pages dont load because im disconected from the internet! someone please help me:( also when i troubleshoot it shows no problems because by then my internet is on again! :( help:((

Are you always within a suitbale range f you router, ie when your internet is on have you got at least 3 of the 5 bars.



Secondly is your router new or is it dated if it is dated then you might need to invest in a new one. As after about 3-4 years or even less they begin to drop connections meaning you can be left with no wifi emitied for a short time.

Be more specific. Do you use the computer a lot or just couple of hours, because it happened to me before, and I just gave the laptop some rest :D . After two days it had been fixed.



Or you may have to change the Wireless Channel by opening Internet Explorer, type the address http://192.168.1.1 then put the User name and the password. Go to Wireless Tab, and put the Channel 1 or 11.

Could also be the channel setting in the router -- if folks have moved in around you with more powerful routers all on the same channel, you'll get an intermittent connection.
