I am assuming that you are using a wireless router? Make sure that the router is set to connect to your network always. It is probably set now to connect to strongest network, so when it finds a stronger signal, it drops yours and connects to your neighbours, etc. Also, I would seriously read into how to turn on your WEP and use this for your security. As for why IE and not Firefox, well without knowing more of what error messages its giving you, not sure why. You could look for things like whether its looking for a proxy, etc.

Be thankful ---Mozilla may have entered your system in the form of SPYWARE . . You are better off using I.E. As far as getting knocked off of your internet connection , it may or may not be related to the situation you are complaining about .......but most likely , you have picked up a virus or spyware that is knocking you off......because this same thing happened to me several times . I would gamble that it is SPYWARE doing that.

DownLoad " SUPAR ANTI SPYWARE " and do a scan.....and I'm sure your computer will run better .
