I'vs been surfing the the web researching on Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.

Please answer all my questions for Best Answer

I heard Opera is fastest and uses the least amount of memory and has most of the features of Firefox. Doesn't this makes Opera the best web browser?

I'm confused about does Firefox uses more or less memory than Internet explorer?

Many people in my school uses firefox now and why is it the best web browser but not Opera?

If Internet Explorer uses like 50MB and you get 12Gb a month from you ISP is that 50MB has been used up?

If so then Opera can be used more time than Internet Explorer before you're being capped?

The speed of your internet connection and your ISP's limit will not change no matter which browser you use.

Imagine that your ISP is like a mail carrier. The limit is how much mail they agree to send to you. So if you download too much, then they'll stop sending, send slowly, or charge you money.

The 50 MB that your browser uses is different. To do work, a program needs a cpu to 'think', and some memory to keep track what it's thinking about. (So no, 50MB does not get used.)

A browser is a bit like a butler who gets your mail and needs to use a notebook (memory) to make calculations about where on the screen to draw this text, and where to draw that image. If a browser uses too much memory, everything else might slow down. Usually it's not a big deal. The more important things are the features, and how fast it draws the screen for you.

IE doesn't use up a lot of paper (its memory use is smaller), but it's a bit old and crotchety. It can't do as much as the newer browsers, and it sometimes forgets to lock your doors at night, but many users like IE because it's been with the family for so long - it's familiar, and that's good.

Opera is like a butler trained in some European country. It's very clean, very usable, very secure. It's fast, and it doesn't use too much memory. It has some neat features.

Firefox is... I have no analogy. With the brand new version, it does pretty much anything Opera does, and with add-ons a whole lot more (it'll remove ads, block scripts, help you search). The last version had a problem with memory, but that's been fixed now:

There are updates for Opera too though, and Firefox and Opera will be very close in terms of performance for a while. IE is and will probably remain behind.

The main reason people say Firefox is better is because of the community. There are more people to help you use Firefox, and more people to fix it. Opera does not have more features than Firefox, because Firefox can get add-ons to do almost anything you want.

Ever since Firefox 3 came out, it has been the lead browser in the whole history of the Internet. (Well, Internet Explorer is still the most well-known)

1. I have used Opera and no, it is not the fastest web browser. It loads images slow, and it has that weird Japanese flag (the white box with the red circle) before fully loading up the image. I hate that. It doesn't use that little memory. Since FF3 came out, the memory usage has decreased by a whole lot. Firefox has way more features, with the additional add-ons which will definitely make it the best browser out there.

2. Firefox uses less memory. It is also faster.

3. Opera isn't as well-known as Firefox, so that may be the reason why they don't use it. Also because Firefox IS the ultimate browser, not Opera. (No offense.)

4. Uh, sorry. I don't understand the question. I'm only 13

5. No comprendooo.

Even though all of the questions I answered (3/5; :P) seem to be siding with Firefox, which was the point, I am speaking as a unbiased average Internet surfer.

1. never heard of opera but i have used IE and FF. From what i have gathered on some sites opera sounds like a well balanced browser but i am not sure on how long its been out. the features it has listed seem to be almost the same as firefox version 3. so depending on your personal preference either one looks pretty solid.

2. Firefox uses more mem usage then IE

3. Firefox is used alot by people because it has sooo many more safety features and customizable features then the old IE that we have been a slave to our whole life. I have also done a bit of research for mobile browsers and havent found anything for the ipod touch/phone getting any news for the opera browser but found a few articles about firefox doing something for it.

4. not quite sure what you are asking. the mem used when u are looking at the task manager isnt the same as the downloading through the ISP. The mem usage is the virtual memory your computer is using to run the program through you graphics card.(how hard the computer is running to keep the task going)

Yes!

Unfortunately yes, it's a problem that keeps reappering with every new release.

Simply because Firefox has always been free while Opera has been a paid - or free with ad banner - until 2006 http://www.opera.com/pressreleases/en/2005/09/20/ .

You get it wrong: the 50MB is from the RAM memory and 12Gb (=1,5GB) it's the traffic - what you recieve from the internet: sites, music, flash videos and the rest - nothing to do with the RAM memory.

Not necessarely. What Opera does better is the cache: if you visit again a site it will take more from the cache inside your pc instead of redownloading it. It really depends on on the sites you visit and how often are they modified.

I incredibly have an Apple workstation that still runs XP and that i exploit the two the Mac and laptop facets. Firefox is definitely with the help of a ways the quickest-and maximum versatile with upload-ons no assessment, Chrome is likewise rapid, yet no longer as versatile yet. IE7 is the subsequent quickest, yet has gadget defects, Safari is plenty slower than IE7 and much less versatile (Its a stripped down tabbed browser that's sluggish) and desires progression. Opera is excellent My score is a million) Firefox 2) IE7 3) Chrome 4) Safari and Opera Tied counting on your needs. i do no longer think of each and all the railing against IE7 is deserved in accordance with my adventure. i think of safari has been pumped up way too plenty. that's an extremely magnificent browser an a tremendous apple attempt to grow to be a important browser rapidly, notwithstanding that's way late for a re-haul extremely speed, bookmarking and saving tabs. i like having basically the necessities on safari, it it needs some greater useful properties.

Dear Computer Noob

You asked very good but contraversial question.

Which Browser is the Best ?

IE, Opera, FireFox

First of all I want to talk about IE-

1. Internet Explorer is the Most widely used browser in the world. Because it comes bundled with Microsoft Windows.

2. No addons & extra feautres like inbuilt Chat Feautre, Absence of Antiphising & Antispamming Technology.

3. IE 7 has many inherent Bugs.

4. Does Not open Mutiple tabs in same window.

5.No Facility to apply different color themes

Talking about Firefox-

1. Inbuilt addons for downloading video from Youtube.

2. Absence of Antiphising & Antispamming Technology.

3. Mutiple tabs can be opened in same window.

4. Consumes large amount of Virtual memory about 64 Mb of Ram.

5. Absence of Inbuilt Chat Feautre.

6. No Facility to apply different color themes

Talking About Opera-

1.Opera has inbuilt antiphising & Antispamming Technology.

2. Inbuilt Chat Feautres.

3. Facility to apply different color themes.

4. No Addons.

5. Consumes very less amount of virtual Ram about 20mb.

6.Multiple tabs can be opened in same window.
