It probably is a bug, mostly found when using IE7. I'll bet you don't use IE6.

Some options:

-Disable IE plugins. I've a dutch version of IE, so this is my guess where you can find the options: Extra / Options / Advanced / locate the item 'browser extensions' and disable them.

-Reïnstall internet explorer 7 or go back to 6 (rollback, via system restore point or a ghost-image. Ghost is a nice program to backup your Windows system now and then).

-Run http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

-Use FireFox2 (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/) or Opera9.1 (http://www.opera.com). On some computes Opera might use 99% CPU on some websites.

-If you want less errors in general: use Apple of Linux. However, there are few Linux-games (compared with Windows).

General advice, which might help:

-Don't install toolbars and IE plugins, unless you absolutely need them.

-Wait with installing new versions (in this case, IE7 in stead of IE6) until they have functions you really need or want.

-Now and then, clean temporary files and histories.

-Now and then, run http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan to check for malware.

-Do not store documents, mp3's, mail, pictures, etc. on the same (C:)drive where you installed Windows. Then it's easier to backup your own created stuff, and it's easier to backup (Ghost) the Windows-drive (C:-drive). Two harddisks in your PC is a good way to create such a system. (Two partitions is an option too, but two harddisks give more safety; if one harddisk crashes, you can use the backups which you create now and then on the other harddisk). Example: First harddisk = C: & D:, second harddisk is E:; with C:=windows, D:=backup of docs which are on E:, E: also has Ghost-backups of C: Then, before installing programs or updates or new drivers, it's always a good idea to make a ghost-backup of your C:-drive.

-Run the rootkit revealer now and then: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/securityutilities.mspx

-Try installing the newest video card drivers.

Some might advice you to check the memory (like with memtest86). Bad memory is not likely the cause in this case: generally, bad memory causes different errors at different times, often already at starting Windows.

This is probably because you have the new IE, version 6?(I think). It is still buggy, and you're gonna have to deal with it if you do. But, otherwise, IE is being a jerk, because of some application in the window. So run a scan for spyware or viruses, and then use Firefox. www.getfirefox.com
