Question:
Shouldn't I make IE my "default browser" instead of Firefox even though I actually use Firefox instead of IE?

Won't Internet Explorer work with just about every page on the internet while Firefox will work with most but not all like IE. I use Firefox because of the security but still have IE on my system. I heard that it's good to leave IE as the "default browser" just in case Firefox has trouble opening something.

I need to make a decision on whether to keep IE as my "default browser" or make it Firefox. I will continue to use Firefox instead of IE as my browser of choice, it's just a matter of choosing one to be the default browser.

It will not hurt to leave it with firefox, by allowing a browser to be your default means that any time you open a link to an internet site with it be part of some software or in a word document file, it will open that browser as the default. I would suggest using anything other then IE as it is one of the worst browser out for speed and security. Go with either Firefox, Maxthon, Chrome, or Safari. Safari has the fastest software speed, Firefox has great security and extensions, and Maxthon is just a really neat browser with alot of opportunities.

If you are going to continue to use firefox, then make it your default... Simple as that... ;) Some programs are hard coded to open IE no matter what your default it. If there's troubles, all you need to do is remove IE and reinstall it after firefox is installed and you'll be fine. :) Have a good one! Let me know if you have any questions.

The default browser is the browser that will be opened when other programs open pages. Firefox is better than IE.
